AI assistant
An AI tutor for studying: it explains, then it quizzes you
Mindlet, the app's assistant, knows your collections and your documents. It explains a concept another way, asks you questions, creates cards or plans your reviews. In writing, or out loud.
- Voice conversation in French only
- App in French, content in 9 languages
- Powered by Mistral AI models
What it can do
What can an AI tutor do for your revision?
The assistant doesn't just chat: it acts inside the app, on your collections.
-
Answer from your documents
It searches your course material before answering, to stay close to what you actually need to know.
-
Quiz you
Ask for three questions on a chapter: it starts the session and grades your answers.
-
Create and edit cards
Add a missing notion, rephrase a badly worded question, without leaving the conversation.
-
Plan your reviews
A dated review plan up to the exam, with reminders if you want them.
-
Build a collection
From a topic or a few links, when you don't have course material yet.
-
Read an image
A photo of an exercise, a diagram, a screenshot: it works through them with you.
-
Search the web
To check or complete a point, with sources cited.
-
Remember you
It keeps the facts you tell it to. A memory screen lets you read and erase them.
Voice
Studying out loud: voice conversation
Tap "Parler à Mindlet" (talk to Mindlet) and the conversation switches to voice. The assistant answers out loud, in real time, and can open a screen when you ask: a collection, a card to grade.
Voice conversation is in French only for now. It suits French speakers and anyone studying French: reciting a lesson while walking, getting quizzed before an oral exam.
- French only, for now
- Optional wake word: "Mindlet"
- Without your consent, audio is not kept and no biometric analysis is done
- Call recording is off by default
The assistant's voice
A cloned voice, if you want one
In the assistant voice setting, you pick the voice that answers you. "Cloner ma voix" (clone my voice) creates one from a recording you make yourself, after ticking a consent box. That voice is offered to you alone, three at most, and you can delete it at any time.
While reviewing
A hint, not the answer
In a session, the "Indice" (hint) button gives you a nudge in the right direction without revealing the answer. "Écouter la carte" reads the card out loud.
Open questions, where you explain in your own words, are judged by a language model that tells you what is missing. It can be wrong: read its feedback with your course in front of you.

Translated reading
In the document reader, select a passage to translate it. Choose the translation alone, or a bilingual view where difficult passages are explained in the margin. An unknown word? Tap it. Translation covers 22 languages.
-
Shadowing
In the "S'évaluer" tab, repeat a collection's audio sentences out loud. Mindlet shows the words it understood and your pace. It does not grade pronunciation, and nothing is written to your progress: it is free practice.
Your material first
Why the tutor works from your notes
A general-purpose AI answers from everything it has read. Mindlet's assistant starts from your documents: your teacher's vocabulary, the scope of your syllabus.
What it has you work on lands in your collections. A card created during a conversation comes back later in spaced repetition, right when you were about to forget it.
Limits
What the tutor does not do
Better to know before you rely on it.
- No voice conversation in any language other than French, for now
- No dedicated document summary: for a synthesis, use the study guide
- No reading of a whole document out loud: only cards and its own replies can be heard
- No pronunciation score in shadowing
- No infallibility: AI can be wrong, and its answers should be checked against your course
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is there an AI that quizzes you on your notes?
Yes. In Mindlet, ask the assistant to quiz you on a chapter: it starts from your collection, runs a session and grades your answers. It can also ask you questions by voice, in French. Cards you work on then come back through spaced repetition. The app interface is in French.
Can I practise for an oral exam with AI?
If the oral is in French, yes. "Parler à Mindlet" opens a real-time voice conversation: you speak, the assistant answers out loud and can open a screen when you ask. Voice works in French only. To practise saying sentences in a language, shadowing has you repeat audio phrases, without scoring pronunciation.
Can AI grade a written answer?
Yes, within limits. Mindlet's open questions are judged by a language model that gives written feedback. Nobody reviews these marks and a model can be wrong: read its opinion with your course in front of you. Written answers in the practice exam are marked the same way.
Is using AI to study cheating?
Studying is practice for yourself. An AI that quizzes you, explains a concept again or points out your mistakes is part of that practice. The problem starts when you hand in AI-written work as your own where your teacher forbids it. Mindlet is built for revision: questions, cards, practice exams.
Which AI model does Mindlet use?
By default the assistant runs on Mistral Medium 3.5, a model from Mistral AI, a French company, and it can read images. Speech recognition and speech synthesis use Voxtral, also from Mistral AI. Other providers serve specific uses, such as image generation: the full list is on our AI page.
What does the assistant keep from my conversations?
It keeps the facts you ask it to remember, and a memory screen lets you read and erase them; a conversation can be exported as text. For voice, call recording is off by default; if you turn it on, recordings are kept for 90 days. We do not use your content to train AI models.
Can it help me read material in another language?
Yes, with translated reading. In the document reader you get a translation of a passage, or a bilingual view where difficult passages are explained in the margin. A single word is translated with a tap. Translation covers 22 languages, while the app interface itself stays in French.
