The Mindlet app is in French. This guide quotes each button as it appears on screen, in French, with its English meaning in brackets. Your own courses and cards can be in English or eight other languages.
Mindlet imports Anki exports: a deck (.apkg), a whole collection (.colpkg) or a text file (.csv, .tsv, .txt). Your due dates and review history can come across unchanged.
Import an Anki export
- Open the « Importer un paquet Anki » (Import an Anki deck) screen. If your library is empty, the button is in Collections. Otherwise, drop your deck on the « Ajoute ton cours » (Add your course) screen and tap « Importer ce paquet Anki » (Import this Anki deck).
- Drop your export on the « Dépose ton export d’Anki ici » (Drop your Anki export here) area, or tap it to pick the file. On a phone, it reads « Choisis ton export d’Anki » (Choose your Anki export).
- If needed, open « Options d’import » (Import options). « Garder ma progression » (Keep my progress) keeps your due dates, history and suspended cards. « Mettre à jour ce qui existe déjà » (Update what already exists) replaces notes you imported before with their newer version.
- Under « Où ranger l’import » (Where to put the import), choose « Dans une nouvelle collection » (In a new collection) or « Dans une collection existante » (In an existing collection).
- For a text file, say what each column contains.
- Tap « Importer » (Import). You can leave and come back: the import keeps running, and a summary appears at the end.
After the import
- In a new collection, your subdecks become sub-collections.
- Imported notes don’t count towards your plan’s limits.
- To answer with four buttons as in Anki (« À revoir », « Difficile », « Correct », « Facile »: Again, Hard, Good, Easy), turn on « Outils avancés » (Advanced tools) in Réglages → Session d’étude (Settings → Study session). Their settings appear just below, including « Nombre de boutons » (Number of buttons). Other cards keep Mindlet’s three buttons.
- With advanced tools on, the Collections menu also offers « Importer un paquet Anki », plus tags and note types.
Good to know
- Maximum size: 2 GiB for a deck, 50 MB for a text file.
- A Quizlet CSV export goes through the same screen, as a text file.
