The Mindlet app is in French. This guide quotes each button as it appears on screen, in French, with its English meaning in brackets. Your own courses and cards can be in English or eight other languages.
Mindlet reads most course documents as they are, including a scanned PDF or a photo of a page. The table lists accepted formats and the maximum size of a single file.

How Mindlet reads each source
- Scanned PDFs and photos: Mindlet recognises the text in the image. When a page is mostly a diagram, it reads the image itself too.
- Office documents: converted, then read like a PDF.
- Video: Mindlet transcribes it and picks out the key moments.
- YouTube: Mindlet uses the subtitles, or transcribes the video when there are none.
- Website: Mindlet follows the site’s links, three levels deep at most.
What gets refused
- HEIC photos, the iPhone camera’s default format. Mindlet then shows « Les photos HEIC ne sont pas encore prises en charge » (HEIC photos are not supported yet). Convert the photo to JPEG or PNG, or set the iPhone to save JPEG: in the iPhone’s Settings, go to Camera, then Formats, and choose Most Compatible.
- A YouTube playlist on its own: add the videos one by one.
- Some formats: OneNote (.one), emails (.msg, .eml), InDesign (.indd), Kindle books (.mobi, .azw3), DjVu, XPS, and archives (.zip, .rar, .7z) in the course upload area.
An unknown format shows « Formats acceptés : PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OpenDocument, ePub, images, audio et vidéo. » (Accepted formats: PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OpenDocument, ePub, images, audio and video.)
What about Quizlet?
Mindlet has no direct Quizlet import. A text export (CSV or TSV) goes through the Anki import, where you say what each column contains.
