Reviewing: the session and the Oubli, Flou, Acquis buttons

Start a review session, answer the cards, rate yourself with Oubli, Flou or Acquis (Forgot, Fuzzy, Got it), then go over your mistakes at the end.

The Mindlet app is in French. This guide quotes each button as it appears on screen, in French, with its English meaning in brackets. Your own courses and cards can be in English or eight other languages.

Every day, Mindlet shows you the cards you are about to forget. You answer, and it works out when to show each one again. Reviewing never costs anything, whatever your plan.

Do a session

  1. Open a collection and tap the button at the top of the page: « Commencer » (Start), « Continuer » (Continue) or « Reprendre » (Resume), depending on where you are.
  2. Answer the card. Multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank and ordering cards are marked automatically; an open question is marked by AI, with written feedback.
  3. On a flashcard, recall the answer in your head, flip the card, then say honestly how it went: « Oubli » (Forgot), « Flou » (Fuzzy) or « Acquis » (Got it).
  4. At the end, the summary offers « Revoir mes erreurs » (Review my mistakes) to replay the cards you missed straight away.

When everything is up to date, the collection says « Tu es à jour » (You’re up to date); « M’entraîner quand même » (Practise anyway) then starts a free session.

What do the three buttons mean?

ButtonWhat you’re sayingWhat happens
Oubli (Forgot)“I forgot this card”It comes back soon.
Flou (Fuzzy)“I roughly knew it”It comes back sooner than if you’d known it.
Acquis (Got it)“I’ve got it”It comes back later, and the gap grows with each success.

Mindlet starts from average values, then adjusts its calculations every week to your own forgetting rhythm. The principle is explained on the spaced repetition page.

Keyboard shortcuts

On a computer, pressing ? during a session shows the full list. The most useful:

  • 1, 2, 3: Oubli, Flou, Acquis
  • Space: flip the card
  • Enter: confirm, then next card
  • H: hint, when the card has one
  • S: skip the card
  • Z: focus mode
  • Esc: leave the session

Other handy gestures

  • « Écouter la carte » (Listen to the card) reads the card aloud.
  • A card feels too easy? The card’s menu offers « Je la connais » (I know it) to take it out of your reviews.
  • Cards imported from Anki can keep four buttons: see Import an Anki deck.
